The ChemEd007 committee have used some of the profit from last years chemistry conference to purchase significant supplies of two excellent DVD resources which will be arriving in the next month or so.
The first of these is a DVD set from the Royal Society of Chemistry entitled “Video Material for teachers of Chemistry “. This will be provided free to any NZASE member school that requests one, provided you send me a self addressed and stamped envelope as per the details below.
The second is a new DVD produced by VEA which is a compilation of all of the VisChem material showing superbly detailed animations of chemical processes such as melting, boiling, dissolving, precipitation, complex ion formation and redox reactions. This normally retails at about $200 a copy. As we have only been able to purchase 50 copies of this resource, schools which attended ChemEd007 will be given priority. If more than 50 schools who attended the conference request the resource they will be allocated by random ballot.
