Instructions for adding notices to the NZASE website


Obtain login/password

Each organisation that is a member of NZASE has a login and password to enable them to add notices. If you are the authorised person for your organisation and you cannot locate your login information, please email Andy Kent.

Adding Notices

This works best in Internet Explorer and/or Firefox

Once you have logged in to the administration area, choose Type 'News Article'.
Select the correct category - default should be NZASE
The Date Posted will default to todays date. You can use the pop up calendar to alter this
Date Expired can be left blank, or if you want the notice to be automatically removed on a specific date you can enter that here.
Type in a Title. This will be displayed on the home page, as well as in the notices section. Keep it short and simple.
The Summary will be displayed under the title on the home page, and in the notices section. Again keep it brief and to the point
Display is set to Yes by default. If you want to add a notice but are not ready for it to be visible on the site, set this to no until you are happy to make it live.
The News Article Content is where you can expand on a story, or place additional information that is too long for the summary. In here you may want to add pictures/photos or links to other websites. This content is only displayed if you click on the title of a notice on the home page or in the notices section
There are a number of icons at the top of this section which allow you to insert images, choose colours, formatting in bold or italic etc. Please use with caution! If you can't see the icons you need to be using Internet Explorer or Firefox
Click here to see an overview of all the icons and their meaning. This will open in a new browser window
Ignore the thumbnail option
Click on Add to publish the notice to the site and this will now be live on the home page and in the notices section

Editing Existing Notices

Click on List News in the menu at the top and you will find a list of notices that you have entered.
You can search for a notice by Date Posted, Date Expired, or the Title.
Alternatively, you can sort the results by clicking on the relevant column (eg Title, Posted, Expired, Display).
Click on the pencil icon to edit a specific notice.
All notices will display in the Edit page in the same way as Add a Notice above but click Update to save changes instead of Add. If you wish to cancel without updating, click Back.

Deleting Existing Notices

You can choose to delete a single notice or multiple notices.
For a single notice, when in the Edit News screen, click on the Delete button at the bottom of the notice you are editing and a page will prompt out to confirm your action
For multiple notices, select each notice you want to delete by clicking on the box to the left hand side of each notice.
Then click on the Delete Selected link above the columns and a page will prompt out to confirm your action.
For multiple news deletion, simply return to the List News screen, and tick the box adjacent to each news.
Click on the Delete Selected link to delete the notices that you have selected.
